One becomes to the people who have been hurt and to those who have been helped - In the East, people use "karma" as an excuse for not having to help anybody - in the "libertarian" West it is more subtle. People of the Western world who believe in Karma can be exaggerated "sensitive" and "cautious," and assert - to help someone might interfere with a process that man "must make with himself"...
Buddhists know:
To sacrifice the whole of eternity for this life - would be like spending the savings of his whole life for a single drink - in a witty misunderstanding of the consequences...
"Bardo" (tibetan) = transition or the gap between the end of a situation - and the beginning of the next one...
A single moment of panic shows us how unsafe and unstable everything is - This uncertainty, which is already omnipresent, will become much more intense and acute after our death - because then our respective state of mental clarity or confusion "is amplified by 7 times"...
We are part of the whole - we are involved in a destiny - which we can not choose... - In the here and now, we live in a madhouse - and it is almost impossible to get rid of it...
We can not save the world, but we can change ourselves - Be conscious and do the feasible, the small steps, the unspectacular - perhaps not abolish the car, but as little as possible drive with it - quit smoking - e.g. to spend holidays in Mecklenburg, etc. - instead of in Kenya - And turn off the "gossip-TV", 3 times in the week, or best totally...
