I found that going to work let me interact with others. So I found that I could be myself. I also found that I could be happy and not feel guilty about it. I could feel the pressure from Danny when we were together. He tried to tell me how to act at work. I let him talk but had no intention of following his advice. I believe it's only after we start looking after our own feeling that we can address issues in our lives.
When we feel hurt and angry it's hard to handle it, and it's easier to retreat than to move ahead. We are still vulnerable at the beginning. It's funny because sometimes we try and punish the people around us. I would take nothing from my co-workers, and they knew it. They never did anything but I would be like a young hen looking after her chicks. I protected myself. We can find ourselves wanting to get even for the least little thing.
