20.08.2001 - Interpretation of dali48

You (though depressed) are worthy - just like any other human, to feel affection and joy in life - With our birth we have earned a right to live in this world. Somewhere around you, there is a person who would like to live with you the way you are - Somewhere around you, there are people who need your advice and help - You are worth more than you believe in depression - Do not be discouraged by disappointments and setbacks on your way to recovery. The path to health is not comparable to a highway that is always straight ahead - But who guarantees us that everything is right with people who reject us or leave us? - Others also have prejudices, weaknesses and mistakes - Where there is joy and interest, energy builds up at the same time - Let's accept what has happened (losses) - Our well-being is often impaired by depressive sleep disorders - They affect our well-being during the day - Painkiller or alcohol dependence (better: Valerian, hops, St. John's wort etc. - d.48) are an excellent "fertilizer" for depression. They are also a good breeding ground for a relapse into this disease - Never mind again that you are different than the others. On the contrary, be proud of it - A cheerful company can, e.g. deepen our emotional distress, because you are not ready yet - that you can feel joy again - If you don't feel comfortable in a cheerful environment (usually etc. - d.48), that's normal in depression. Withdraw in this case - Do not be impressed by the terrible events of world history - Who says we have to "keep up to date" with the many bad news from around the world? - Later, when you are well again, you should take care - that your soul remains "jam-free" - Paths into the past (see e.g. nostalgic trips, etc. - d.48) hinder the process of growing ... 19.08.2001 - Interpretation of dali48

Depression - disguised as a physical complaint:
Heart and breathing problems, tension and head, neck, back pain, sweating, sleep disturbances or pressure on the chest - There are mentally ill patients who no longer trust traditional medicine - They feel powerless, without momentum, and helpless. Tasks that normally do not cause you any difficulty are a burden in depression - hard to cope with - They feel away from what is happening around them. They no longer feel "associated" - Was it not that we believed that one can not lose what one once laboriously built up? - E.g. a family - a partnership - a home - an existence? - It is a pity that in depression we can not see that the problems of the past and the future will "settle on their own" - if we could stop looking for a solution for them ... Interpretation of dali48

Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can have a negative effect on a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings, world view and physical well-being - Depressed people may feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, worried, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, hurt, or restless - They may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable - experience loss of appetite or overeating - have problems concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions - and may contemplate or attempt suicide - Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains or digestive problems that are resistant to treatment may also be present - Depressed mood is not necessarily a psychiatric disorder. It is a normal reaction to certain life events, a symptom of some medical conditions, and a side effect of some medical treatments - Life events and changes that may precipitate depressed mood include menopause, financial difficulties, job problems, relationship troubles, separation and bereavement - Outside the mood disorders: borderline personality disorder commonly features depressed mood - adjustment disorder with depressed mood is a mood disturbance appearing as a psychological response to an identifiable event or stressor, in which the resulting emotional or behavioral symptoms are significant but do not meet the criteria for a major depressive episode - and post-traumatic stress disorder, an anxiety disorder that sometimes follows trauma, is commonly accompanied by depressed mood - Depression in young adults is a common health problem and a growing public concern. In 2006, 1 in 20 U.S. adults had experienced a major depressive episode with severe impairment - Based on the findings, the rates of students reporting having been diagnosed with depression have increased from 10% in 2000 to 21% in 2011. In 2011, female students reported depressive symptoms, including 22% feeling that things were hopeless, 23% feeling lonely, and 26% feeling very sad within the preceding two weeks to 21% in 2011 - Women are at higher risk than men to experience depression ...
