21.02.2008 - Interpretation of dali48

The black race has more than sufficient historical justification for being a little paraoid about the intrusion of foreign "deities" into their fate! - Economic and political motives, yes. But not religion! - Certainly, the bloody history of the great world religions leads to a creeping suspicion that religion only comes to self-knowledge through warfare! - Such a society does not belong in this modern world! - We also have our myths, but we never used them as a basis for subjugating others - "Warning! This work is dangerous for your racial self-esteem" ... (W. Soyinka, Nobel L. 1986)

After his release in 1969 (after two years imprisonment), Soyinka voluntarily went into exile, and soon a second phase of intense creativity began! - This book (The Open Sore of a Continent, 1996) follows in the footsteps of Nigeria's decline into increasingly inhumane military governments, a deterioration confirmed by the execution of playwright colleague Ken Saro-Wiwa in 1995, as well as the death sentence that was made about Soyinka even in 1997 ...
