20.05.2001 - Interpretation of dali48

If we do not pay attention, we can easily repeat the great mistakes of our modern society - ambition, materialism, and solitude - in our spiritual life... (J. Kornfield)

Does this path have a heart? - If it is, then it is a good way - If not, it is useless... - The rain has stopped, The clouds have turned, And it is clear again, Is your heart pure, Then all things are in your world pure - Then you are guided (accompanied) by the moon and the flowers on your way... (Ryokan, Zen poet)

Keep in mind, as all joys and sorrows, joyous events and unpleasant events, people, peoples, even cultures come and go... - Life exists only in the present. Life is possible only at the present moment, for the past is no longer there and the future is not yet - When we are in harmony with what we are doing, body and mind can live in harmony, and we can smilingly make peace with us and our environment - For happiness does not wait in the end of the journey, but is hidden in every little step that accompanies us there on the street of everyday life - and every second of life becomes a gift... (T.N.H.)

Gentle speech can bring true happiness - and careless speech can kill - Are we aware of how often we daily judge and condemn, command, hurt, and exercise our lust for power? - As long as our ancestors still suffer in us, we can not really be happy... - Children are most capable of practicing mindfulness and remembering others of it... - Everything we say, think or do with mindfulness is described as something that "has the taste of Zen"... - There is no enlightenment outside of everyday life... - Gustav Jung denounced alcoholism as a spiritual thirst to holiness, a desire for understanding, personal fulfillment, and spiritual unity - This "thirst", which is inherent in all of us, can be explained by deep wounds from our past and the need to escape the pain, can lead to the dependence on various mood-altering substances (see cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc. - d.48) and behaviors... - The root of all human suffering is, according to Buddhist philosophy, the attachment or the desire, and the path to liberation lies in a daily exercise that includes an element of letting-go or giving-up... - I describe our survival mechanisms in an unsupporting or hostile world - and our need to escape the pain of life... (C. Grof)
