08.10.2009 - Interpretation of dali48

The hardness with which Sartre eradicated everything that his predecessors had projected into man - and the emphasis on negative emotions are probably only understandable from the experience of war - Sartre's resistance to inertia and emptiness is correspondingly strong - There must be resistance (against the Nazis) and something new is to build...
Philosophically, this feeling manifests itself in Sartre's innumerable demands for action: "Man is what he accomplishes" - or "There is reality only in fact" (if it is positive, constructive, social, environmentally friendly, etc. - d.48)...
There is no excuse for people who are dreaming in nothingness - For they only flee from themselves and their responsibility - all this, according to Sartre, is self-deception (but still better than destructive deeds etc. - d.48)... (R.D. Precht)

Interpretation of dali48

After rejecting the German authorities' offer to go to the safety of Switzerland, but without the other members of the legation and their families - he chose to return to occupied Belgrade...
He refused to sign the Appeal to the Serbian people that condemned resistance to the occupying forces! - He also refused to let the Serbian Literary Association publish his short stories - while "the people are suffering and dying"...
He donated his entire Nobel Prize money to the library fund in Bosnia and Herzegowina, in 2 parts! - In addition, he frequently participated in activities to assist libraries - and donated money to charity... (The Ivo Andric Foundation)
