07.12.1998 - Interpretation of dali48
We should be grateful for all that is offered to us - but what do we really do? - We are angry about what we do not like... - What does not exist with us - we just did not work out... - We get pleasure and happiness through sensual contacts - especially by the refined... - Some people are looking for happiness through rough senses - This of course brings only suffering (see Dhukka)... - This can be alcohol or drugs, sex (to an increased extent) or eating - The less we recognize ourselves, the less we know what is happening in the world - As soon as we accept what is, and realize that this is not satisfactory, we need not suffer from it... - Pleasant senses such as coffee, tea, sweets, TV, telephone calls, resting, etc. - we are looking for averting our suffering... - The distant and absolute enemy of love is, of course, hatred. This is quite easy to understand, but the close enemy of love is attachment - and that is already much more difficult to recognize...
Attachment to what? - To any person what causes anxiety - Fear again means hate... - We can immediately investigate if we can love something that we are afraid of... - So if we judge someone in any negative way, then we can be sure that we have the same difficulty in ourselves (see projections, etc. - d.48), otherwise we would not recognize it at all... - We must learn to accept losses because we know - in the end there is nothing left to our lives anyway... - Why do we often and so unnecessarily use the feeling of hatred or rejection? - That does not make anybody happy - neither ourselves, nor the ones we reject, nor the world around us... - We can be slow, and still create everything - What do we actually have to do? - We're all on our way to the cemetery, what's the hurry? - We are guaranteed to arrive if we hurry or not...
