Part 80... by Golden Snow
It was a time of learning for me on my new job. I also found it interesting and asked questions and learned what was behind it all. I found it amazing that large machines could be run by the press of a button. I soon found myself on board soldering for large machines. It was more complicated but time went faster, and I enjoyed the challenge. I was called to the office one afternoon and thought for sure that I was being laid off, but was surprised when the boss said that he was pleased with my work and would like me to become a supervisor in my department. He also wanted me to train the new people who were hired to assemble the boards. I made the most boards each day, and he was interested in how I did it. I should start the next week. When I came out of the office everyone was filled with questions. I said: "You have to wait until next week." I was so happy because it would mean more monies and that my dream for a home for the boys was getting closer.
We must learn our own powers. We have to stand up to our fears in order to break the cycle. Feelings of hurt welled up inside of me. I could try all that I wanted but Danny would always be cruel and angry. He never returned that night. I went back to work the next day. It was Friday. Everyone was shocked to see my face and my black eyes. I could barely speak because it hurt my lip. They asked whether I was in an accident. I do not know why but I said: "Yes, at the end of my husband's hand!" Everyone was shocked. Later as the boss walked through he saw my face and asked me into his office. He asked what had happenrd, and I told him the truth. I was afraid to keep this inside anymore. He told me that I should get out of this relationship. I knew this was true, but I was afraid to lose my children to Danny.
