In my school days I usually read a number of books that were published in Poland at that time - "The Library of the Nobel Prize Winners" ...
Even much later, when I sought solitude, and devoted myself to a strange job - writing poetry in Polish, while I was in France or America...
There was Selma Lagerlöf - her Wonderful Adventures of Nils, a book that I loved, where the hero plays a double role. He is the one who flies over the earth and looks at it from above, but at the same time watches every detail (see e.g. Google Earth, etc. - d.48)...
"What is reality?" Because it is the same question as that of Pontius Pilate, "What is truth?"...
If the contrast between life and death that we use every day is of such importance among the conflicting pairs - the opposition of truth and falsehood, of reality and illusion should not be attributed less importance...
Simone Weil, whose writings I am grateful and deeply connected, says: "Distance is the soul of beauty"...
It is good to be born in a small country where nature was an order of magnitude, - and where different languages and religions lived together for centuries...

The mystery Alzheimer's disease: 3 million patients in Europe - The documentation (arte.tv, 04/08/2008) provides scientific research from the USA (see D. Snowdon, Kentucky), Canada and Germany (see University of Göttingen)...
I was mostly convinced - by the Canadian researchers, who attributed Alzheimer's to an inflammation of the brain - what is also confirmed by two other researchers from Kentucky and Göttingen indirectly - see e.g. very old nuns, who in spite of autopsied Alzheimer in the brain (dementia level 6), were mentally "top fit" before their deaths - and by the Göttingen researchers who found out that there is no relation between the "Alzheimer plaques" and the dying nerve cells, etc… (dali48)
