A wrong lifestyle and diet affects fear: Too little fresh air and movement, too much night work or too long to sleep in the day, too much protein or fat, lack of fruit and vegetables, too much refined sugar, too much natural carbohydrates, too much alcohol and nicotine, too much caffeine, e.g. Coffee, coke or tea, drugs and Medicines, e.g. Sleeping pills and stimulants, persistent stress concerning muscles, stomach, head and chest, environmental chemicals, e.g. Food additives, detergents, fertilizers, cosmetics, formaldehyde, fluorescent light, e.g. In discotheques; Physical diseases, e.g. Viral infections; Problems in employment, partnership and family; Separations and deaths that can not be worked with other people. Today every 5th (20%) is affected by anxiety disorders during his life. - R. Greenberg called them "dream breakers." - This kind of sleep disorders affects anxious and depressed people! It could be interpreted as a protective reaction to avoid a nightmare. - In contrast to the people who are afraid of sleep - the mentally depressed seek refuge in sleep. (A.-A. Cavelius)
