24.04.2001 - Interpretation of dali48

When our relationships get out of the track, we all tend to blame our partners... - We all need to protect ourselves better at our emotional and physical limits, until we know - not only hope - that it will go well... - Some of us are so hungry for love that they give too much too quickly. We open our heart, our doors, our refrigerator and sometimes even our checkbook. We hardly set boundaries and keep nothing or little back. We leave alien people too fast in our lives - We do not protect ourselves enough. We give more than is demanded by us. We risk too much in the name of love ... - If you change for the better, your relationships will also be better... - The patients have the intense, delirious conviction that the partial personalities are separate beings. It becomes a therapeutic balancing act, on the one hand accepting the dissociative defense (separation of non-integrated partial personalities) as survival strategy - and on the other hand, to convey that all partial personalities belong to a single person, and that there is a shared responsibility for this... (F. Lamprecht)

Such patients have experienced severe relationship trauma from their early childhood and therefore have great difficulties in embracing a trusting relationship - They have grown up in a family system with extreme violence and arbitrary experience. They had no way to develop a sense of self-determination or competency. Permanent crossings of limits were the order of the day and were internalized as a style of relationship... - If we had too many negative experiences - we lose the courage to love... (Carter / Sokol)

Ghosting is breaking off a relationship (often an intimate relationship) by stopping all communication and contact with the partner without any apparent warning or justification, as well as ignoring the partner's attempts to reach out or communicate. ... It just didn't work out and sometimes we just can't accept it." He continues: ...

Psychological trauma is damage to the mind that occurs as a result of a distressing event. ... Some theories suggest childhood trauma can increase one's risk for mental ... The severity of these symptoms depends on the person, the type of trauma ... as well as their ability to regulate emotions and navigate relationships.
