The secret of bee death! - For several years, billions of bees are dying (even bumblebees etc. - d.48) for no apparent reason (see e.g. in Erkrath/Germany, etc. - always at the same time of year since ca. 2000, etc. - d.48)! - On the track of the phenomenon! - One third of the human diet depends directly on the bee today: they are the most important pollinators of plants! - 2006 made the news headlines from the U.S., billions of bees have died! - The U.S. government commissioned a group of scientists with the investigation of this mysterious death, which immediately got a name: Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)! - About the cause there are only guesses (it follows for me:
1 The bees etc. didn't find enough food in the environment - i.e. we should reserve 10% of food production for hungry wildlife, - as in ancient times "10% of income" was reserved for the church! ...
2 Poisoning by pesticides, see neonics etc.! ...
3 They have a weakened immune system, - may be by global warming etc. - d.48)! ...
Mark Daniels will follow the work of various scientists with different hypotheses, the causes of the global threat to wild bee honey and try to understand! - There is also the question of how it came to radical changes in the relationship between humans and bees (see e.g. deportation of bee-colonies on trucks across the USA, in order to pollinate vast orchards! - Why don't they combine bees and orchards at the same place etc.? - d.48)! ...
Long before the CCD became the headlines, scientists and beekeepers had to research the decline of bees and other pollinators (which is also confirmed by my observations and experiences in the last years in Erkrath/Germany! - So I have e.g. fed weakened bees that came inside our apartment by a cotton swab dipped in honey, put them on the cool earth of a house plant, and if they could creep out of the plant pot again, let them fly out of the window, - see my diary of 25.04.2010, etc. - d.48)! ...
