Ich würde hier gern einige Punkte klarstellen:
Honigbienen sind im europäischen Raum zuhause, die gehören hierher. Es gibt sogar Höhlenmalereien aus der Steinzeit, die Honigbienen zeigen. Wildbienen und Honigbienen sind seit Jahrtausenden aufeinander eingespielt: Die Honigbienen sind spezialisiert auf große Trachten, die Wildbienen auf kleine Mengen. Die Wildbienen fliegen teilweise zu anderen Zeiten oder auch bei anderen Temperaturen als Honigbienen. Kurz gesagt, eigentlich kommen die wunderbar miteinander klar. Wenn nicht der Mensch käme und ihnen den Lebensraum und die Nahrung wegnehmen würde.
Was das Virus angeht: Auch das verdanken die Bienen dem Menschen. Menschen haben durch weltweiten Handeln in den 70er Jahren die Varroamilbe mit nach Europa gebracht. Diese Milbe lebt eigentlich im asiatischen Raum und hat sich dort in den Bienenstöcken der östlichen Honigbiene eingerichtet. Die östliche Biene hat Techniken entwickelt, um die Milbenpopulation in Schach zu halten. Das Problem ist nur: Unsere westliche Honigbiene kann das nicht.
Was hat das jetzt mit dem DWV zu tun? Ganz einfach: Das Flügeldeformationsvirus wird durch die Varroamilbe übertragen. Die Milbe schlüpft in die Brutzellen der Biene und saugt die darin befindliche Brut an. Bei diesem Saugen überträgt die Milbe das Virus in die Biene, die dann krank wird. Durch dieses Anstechen und Aussaugen der Brut umgeht die Milbe das Immunsystem der Bienen, das sonst mit einer Menge Krankheiten gut klar kommt - aber eben nicht, wenn die Krankheitskeime direkt in den Körper gespritzt werden.
Bei Wildbienen hat die Milbe Probleme, sich einzunisten, weil die Menge an potentiellen Opfern zu klein ist, die meisten Wildbienen leben ja allein. Honigbienen und Hummeln nicht, die bilden Staaten und sind dadurch für die Milbe interessant. Genau wegen dieser Milbe und der Krankheiten, die sie überträgt, haben wir in Deutschland Gesetze, die vorschreiben, dass jeder Imker seine Bienen gegen die Milbe behandeln muss.
An dem Problem ist aber definitiv nicht die Honigbiene schuld, das ist wie so oft von Menschen verursacht.
