All such attempts to escape oneself must fail - the only real escape from life is death - In the alcoholic there is a terrible rage, which is based on feelings of guilt against his own self - Feelings of guilt for sexual impulses and anger are the psychic basis for the flight into the alcohol - It is neither a sedative (see e.g. valerian, etc. - d.48) nor an anesthetic, although it can reduce anxiety and pain sensitivity... - Alcohol does not inhibit and lays a distance between humans and the reality, which allows a certain amount of expression... - We all know the pressure at work or at home, but the inner stress is the most important - It arises when oppressed feelings threaten to break into consciousness - In general this happens, when the external stress is diminished, as on weekends or on vacation - What happens when one has strong sexual feelings, but at the same time excessive feelings of guilt? - It is enough to drive one into the madness - Since a life without feelings is meaningless - these people grab every drug, which promises a feeling of excitement and liveliness... - The madness lies here in the loss of the contact to the life of the body, and in the flight into a world of fantasies and images of imagination... - The self-acceptance is what lacks the narcissistic people who have separated their bodies from themselves, so that the libido is invested into the "ego" (see Illusion etc. - d.48), and not in the body or in the self - Without self-acceptance there is no self-love... - The tragedy of narcissistic people is that they desperately desire to be loved or to love - but they can not express these feelings or they dare not - It would cause them too much pain... - Denying their own feelings is crazy - for it is a denial of the self... On the train to the EU Parliament, the Italian Senate, the Vatican and House of Parliament during the Easter holiday. And on Friday I’ll participate in the school strike in Rome.
