Contemplation about death will give us a deeper sense of what we call "renunciation." - This renunciation, to which we come, contains both joy and grief:
Grief because we recognize the futility of our old ways - joy because of the greater vision that begins to unfold as soon as we let go of the old habits...
If we keep things for the long term, we exclude the possibility of learning by changes - we are then hardened and begin to grasp and hold on - this grasping and holding is the source of all our problems...
