15.02.2008 - Interpretation of dali48
In this poem - "Parliament of Birds" by Chaucer it is shown how the birds gather around the goddess of nature on this very holiday (St Valentine), so that each one finds a partner! ... (Wikipedia)

What does the bird symbolize in the poem? - The bird represents freedom or desire to be free, while the cage symbolizes confinement or oppression. Even the act of singing shines a spotlight on the author's ability to grow and flourish despite her challenges.
How does the Parliament of Fowls end? - The birds have a parliamentary debate while three male eagles try to seduce a female bird. The debate is full of speeches and insults. At the end, none of the three eagles wins the female eagle. The dream ends welcoming the coming spring.
Woher kommt der Valentinstag her?
In my memory, I notice that yesterday (14.2.) many birds were flying in pairs, as I rode by bike to "Morper Lake" to feed birds etc. (dali48)
(3.4.2010) A morning with Zen is a good morning, - every day is a good day, - no matter how rough it might be! ...
Zen is as free as a bird that flies, - like the fish that swims, - the lily (see daisy etc. - d.48), which blooms! ... (D. T. Suzuki)

What does the bird represent in Buddhism? - Poets have long made wordy use of their wings, while mystics have revered them. In Buddhism, birds are used to teach ethics and concepts. They are metaphors for our muddled, unskillful selves, and also represent our best, no-self selves.

Wikipedia
