The 6 senses and The 5 obstacles in Buddhism etc. by dali48
dali48 and private tuition and writing books and cycling and photographing in Erkrath, 8/1983 - 5/2010 Interpretation of dali48
see 6 December, Santa Claus etc. - d.48)
Jhana-Verlag, Buddha-Haus, Uttenbühl 5, 87466 Oy-Mittelberg...
Of course, these are new ways, new thinking, new methods - because if the familiar would have worked, yes, everything would be permanently happy… (A. Khema)
The lowest level of happiness - is the sensory satisfaction...
The 6 senses (Buddhist): vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching and thinking…
The 5 obstacles:
1 Desire for sense gratification - because there is no final satisfaction at this level (see e.g. eating and drinking, etc. - d.48)...
2 Malice (revenge)...
3 Permeability (cool) and inertia...
4 Anxiety and restlessness...
5 Skepticism (see e.g. atheism, etc. - d.48)…
What are you looking out longingly - it was allotted to you. You prevail and cheering loudly: “Now I have peace at last” – “Oh, my friend, do not talk so wild, restrain your tongue.” - Each request, if it is satisfied - gets instantly offspring… (Wilhelm Busch)
Absolute truths are always the same. - No one believes that one can buy happiness, - and yet it is tried again and again...
Object of contemplation: “What did I actually get?" - Then I probably must have wanted it. - For no one gets anything without having wanted it...
What our life is and how our quality of life looks like, - we have to blame ourselves...
The interior and exterior fit together precisely. - We share the humanity in general in 3 parts:
The nice people with whom we want to be together, - the monsters, we want to get rid of, - and those whom we are not interested in...
Does the other person join in or has it forgotten to confirm us? - In the latter case, aggression, arguments and hostilities are high in us...
The greed types are more eager to satisfy the senses, - and the hate types (see frustration and aggression, etc. - d.48) behave in a more hostile way...
If we have a lot of resentment and negativity in us, - so it happens that we are always looking for satisfaction through the senses...
This is probably the only moment - where we have found comfort and relief from the rejection and negativity. - Everything that exists is not 100% satisfactory… (Buddha)
Only to believe isn’t useful for us - but to try it, will help us very much...
Why do I make myself really unhappy? - Why do I react then? - I hear and I see it (see audiovisual etc. - d.48)...
To respond to it - is quite unnecessary...
Each sense contact inevitably brings a feeling with it. - There is nothing to change. - The feeling may be pleasant, unpleasant or neutral...
As long as we have a body - there is always something that is not in order - It does not help...
At the end it still dies away, probably on the wrong day. - The fact that we can keep our body completely in order is a fantasy, a utopia. - If we have our body pain free and functional, we can be fortunate...
Every person is dissatisfied and unfulfilled - because there is no way to escape the “dukkha” (see suffering, etc. - d.48)...
Sin and punishment are not there in the Buddha's teaching - but only cause and effect (see causality principle, etc. - d.48)...
As you sow - you will reap (see Grandma Helen, Steinbach in the 50s etc. - d.48), and we reap our own harvest...
We cannot harvest a neighbor's garden - where he harvests himself.... (A. Khema)
Pleasure & Happiness and Way & Rush etc. by dali48
dali48 and menaced private tuition since 1989, and writing diary3 and photographing in Erkrath till 5/2010
Interpretation of dali48
We should be grateful for everything that is offered. - What do we really do? - We are angry about what we do not like. What is not existing in us - we simply have not worked out (see not sown, etc. - d.48)... (A. Khema)
We get joy, pleasure and happiness - by sense contacts, especially through the refined. - Some people are looking for happiness through rough sense contacts. - This of course brings only suffering (see Dhukka). This may be alcohol or drugs, sex or food...
The less we know ourselves - the less we know what's happening in the world...
Once we accept what is - and realize that this is not satisfactory, - we need not suffer...
Pleasant sense contacts - such as coffee, tea, sweets, TV, phone calls, rest, etc. - we seek to gloss over our suffering...
The remote and absolute enemy of love - is hate, of course. It's easy to understand - but the near enemy of love is attachment and the elements already much more difficult...
Attachment = addiction to what? - To a person what creates fear? - Anxiety in turn means hatred. - We can now examine whether we could love something, what we are afraid of...
So when we judge someone in any negative way - then we can be sure that we have the same difficulty in us (see projections, etc. - d.48), otherwise we would not recognize it...
We must learn to accept losses - because we know that it is nothing left - at the end of our lives anyway...
Why do we use so often and unnecessarily, the sense of hatred or rejection? - This makes happy no one, neither ourselves - nor those we reject, nor the world around us...
We can be slow and quiet, and still manage everything. - What must we create anyway? - We are all on the way to the cemetery, why the rush? - We certainly reach the end, whether we hurry - or not... (A. Khema)
Virtues and Laws of nature and Ayya Khema etc. by dali48
dali48 and private tuition and writing diary3 and cycling and photographing in Erkrath till 5/2010 Interpretation of dali48
The far enemy of joy is envy - but the near enemy is hypocrisy… (A. Khema)
The more we give, the more we get back. - Few people believe this - and have the courage to try again...
10 Virtues:
1 Generosity, 2 Morality, 3 Renunciation, 4 Wisdom,
5 Spirit, 6 Patience, 7 Truthfulness, 8 Decisiveness,
9 Loving kindness, 10 Equanimity...
Joy is a golden light (see e.g. sun, etc. - d.48), lively, easy, gratifying and fulfilling. - If we cannot appreciate the small things, then it is difficult to maintain the joy in our heart - because the big things happen very rarely...
Where peace prevails - we have the opportunity to rejoice over the smallest things...
If we radiate anger and resentment, fantasy, disappointment or negativity - we get this exactly back...
The far-away enemy of equanimity is excitement, agitation - and the near enemy is indifference...
Adhesion and attachment take e.g. the place of unconditional love in our society - and is admired as a true love...
Someone who has prepared with indifference - works almost exclusively with his head...
The mind has the ability to respond to everything he hears or reads with the opposite. - But for what we feel and perceive, there is no opposite...
The 8 laws of nature (see Dhamma):
Profit and loss, praise and blame, fame and calumny, good fortune and misfortune...
If our ego feels attacked, we respond with anger, rejection and fear. - Aggression is produced by fear (i.e. aggression is hidden behind unconscious anxiety and / or guilt, etc. - d.48)...
Therefore, losses in people, in support, and health - are very often a great help to recognize spiritual truths better...
Of course you can also turn into the opposite. - If we do not accept losses, they can be the prelude to sorrow, depression, defense and disgust...
We can try to empathize us in the role of a dying man so that there is no difference between us now who are alive - and someone who is dying...
Then we know - what is more important...
Without prior exercise (see e.g. meditation, etc. - d.48), we have defense and disgust - that will make this inevitable experience unpleasant and difficult...
We are really spiritual, not physical beings. - Our compact, solid body contributes to the optical illusion of materiality. - Even the body is composed of about 80% water...
But we believe only what we see - and often to our great disadvantage, what is printed...
We need courage to be different from the world around us. - Each person is influenced and can be managed by the feelings, thoughts, and habits of its environment. - It is therefore important to come together with one or more people who want to follow the same spiritual path...
Otherwise, we live under the influence of a corrupt-minded world - which is not only harmful, but makes us forget spirituality... (Ayya Khema)
