15.09.2009 - Interpretation of dali48

It is better to travel - than to arrive... (daily Buddha)

Our sages of blessed memory have said - that we must not enjoy any pleasure in this world without reciting a blessing... (S. Agnon, Banquet Sp. 1966)

Interpretation of dali48

The situation is dramatic! - Humans (by their greed and destructive technology = dehumanized robots, see e.g. chick shredding etc. - d.48) have caused larger wounds in the last decades to the earth than in the entire time from the beginning of mankind to WW 2... - Within less than 30 years, forests have shrunk to less than half (see deforestation, etc. - d.48)... - At a constant level, the last tropical tree will be felled in 2045! - Day by day, some 100 species of animals die - most of them nameless and never discovered by science... (R. Precht, Who Am I, p. 232, 233)

The writer Goethe was an unflagging optimist. How was he able to maintain such optimism? Because he was always active. He did not allow his life to stagnate. He writes: “It is better to do the smallest thing in the world than to hold half an hour to be too small a thing.” Spending thirty minutes a day meditation, learning something new or assiduously challenging some undertaking has the energy and potential to completely change our lives.
