Part 26... by Golden Snow

I woke to find myself with a tube down my throat and a shirt that hid my hands ... I started to panic ... but a nurse took my hand and said: "You are safe, try and relax, everything is ok." I was so afraid ... she said that Helen and my mother would be here soon ... my mom? I started to cry but it hurt ... the nurse called for a doctor and he came over and gave me a needle ... the doctor said that the tube would come out soon and I should not try and pull it out ... there was a needle in one of my arms, and it was tied to the rail that was around the bed ... I felt tired and went back to sleep ... when I woke the tube was out of my mouth, and it was sore and dry...

I heard a voice and looked to see my mother standing beside the bed. She reached over and hugged and kissed me ... it was so good to see her ... I couldn't talk but mom said that I was doing fine, and that they got the person who had hurt me...

She spoke of my uncle Lewis and said that he would be in later in the week ... she told me how big a boy my brother was and that she would bring him when I felt better ... she also told me that I had two brothers and a sister now ... I drifted in and out of sleep ... I really do not remember how many days passed. I just seemed to sleep a lot...

I woke one morning to find myself beside a bright window, and sitting on a chair was my Uncle Lewis ... he smiled and came to hold my hand ... tears flowed. I could talk but very low ... I just said that I had missed him ... Lewis looked at me and his eyes watered ... "You are missed also, soon you will be well again." He told me that he burned herbs and danced for me to be well, so I knew that I would be ... the elders received great healing from the Spirits...

When I woke Lewis had gone ... a doctor and a nurse were there ... they said that they had to check me over...
