Why St David is the Only Welsh Saint in the Roman Catholic Church's General Calendar of Saints...

Chuck
dali48 - while I can't speak for Nan I suspect that her comment was intended as satirical rather than fact. If I recall Alfred Nobel, the man who invented dynamite and made his fortune from it in the 19th century and then in his will left a chunk of his fortune to be used to fund the Nobel prizes. As to the Peace Prize itself, I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Nobel was an idealist and pacifist and created the prize to encourage and reward those who advanced the cause of peace in the world.
  • Golden Snow "enjoyed the read the following has always been of interest to me , I often wondered how anyone on earth could call another "Saint" reading the following: The early Christian Church, and the Roman Catholic Church today, defined saints to be everyone who had died and gone to Heaven. Of course, only God knows which of the departed are in Heaven and which are not. ... I said this once to a priest and was totally rebuked for it ... but know that this is the only way one would know ... I read that those who live good lives and have righteous hearts are saints f Gods" ...
