During my long phase of diseases (1983 - ca. 8/2008) I was reading a book concerning the toxicity of the white factory-sugar. Therefore I tried some alternatives - for example honey, brown sugar, etc. - unfortunately I haven't found yet a a real alternative - I take a combination of different sugars - but prefer honey...
